Founded in 1964, the United Community Corporation formed as Newark’s Community Action Agency, within a nationwide movement toward expanding social services and grassroots empowerment. UCC assists low-income, disadvantaged and at-risk individuals and families to become self-supporting, while enhancing their quality of life and standard of living. UCC exist to ameliorate the impact of poverty in Newark.
